Another former Cougar, Edney becomes a head coach

Now numbering more than a dozen former Pulaski County High School Cougars, J.T. Edney becomes the latest former Cougar to become a head football coach. Edney is the son of David and Angie Edney of Draper, and the grandson of Roger and Jackie Duncan of Draper. He is also a nephew of former Pulaski Town manager John Hawley. And today, J.T. is the new head football coach at Northhampton High School.

J.T. is a 2010 graduate of PCHS, graduated from Radford University in 2014, and completed his Masters at West Virginia University. Edney was an assistant football coach for Jack Turner at Auburn in Riner for two years before becoming  a football and baseball coach at Bellvue in northern Virginia. J.T. became the defensive backfield coach at Battlefield High in 2015, and then defensive coordinator at Northhampton in 2016, and is now the chief mentor.

J.T. has also coached track and field, and during his athletic career at Pulaski County he ran track, cross country, and even played a year of golf in addition to being a Cougar football player. And to top off the perfect week, J.T. Edney is getting married this Saturday!
