Nora Sheppard Sutherland Turpin age 74 of Pulaski, died early Saturday morning, June 17, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer and extreme illnesses. She was surrounded by family and went home peacefully to be with the lord. She was born on July 11, 1942 in Montgomery County to the late Dolly Fain Sheppard and Willy Bill Sheppard. She graduated Blacksburg High School and was a long time faithful employ of K-mart stores. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Louis G. Sutherland, and brother James Sheppard, sisters Etta Ackers and Martha Phillippi. She is survived by her loving husband Everett Hensel Turpin, her devoted son Louis Glenn Sutherland, beloved grandchild Kevin Matthew Sutherland, also survived by her dearly loved Siblings Estella and Ted Richardson, Maxine & Tim Spencer, Mary Richardson, and Louis & Shirley Sheppard, along with many loved Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sifford Cemetery in Parrott. Following the conclusion of grave side services, the family will receive guests at the Cowboy Church across from Downtown Exxon in Pulaski. In lieu of sending flowers, the family is requesting donations to be sent to PO Box 12 Dublin VA, 24084 in care of Kevin Sutherland to cover Nora’s final expenses due to the financial burdens facing the family.
