King resigns as head baseball coach at PCHS

Pulaski County High School baseball coach Jared King has resigned, PCHS Athletics Director Scott Vest confirmed this morning.

King, a PCHS graduate, had worked as the baseball boss for the Cougars for the past five seasons.

Vest told The Patriot today King is moving to the Pittsburgh area.

This year’s team finished the season at 9-9, but qualified for the Class 4 Region D baseball playoffs.

King graduated from Pulaski County in 2008, and was a member of the Cougars’ baseball and basketball teams.  He then went on to a successful baseball career at the University of Virginia where he appeared in two College World Series, playing first base for the Cavaliers.

King is the son of the late Danny and Brenda King. Danny died in 2005, while Brenda passed away in 2009.
