Man arrested in shooting incident, search in Pulaski

On April 26, 2018, at approximately 3:42PM, Officers with the Pulaski Police Department responded to Washington Square Apartments in reference to an individual who had shot a firearm at an occupied vehicle.

Officers obtained the identity of the suspect and began searching for him in areas he was known to frequent.

A tip was received that he was dropped off in the area of Bob White Blvd. near the town limits.

A deputy with Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office identified the subject as he was passing by in another vehicle in the 3900 block of Bob White Blvd. and initiated a traffic stop.  At this time, the subject got out of the vehicle with the firearm and fled the area.

Several outside agencies responded to assist with the search, including Radford City Police Department, Virginia State Police, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Christiansburg Police Department, and Blacksburg Police Department, which proved successful.

At 7:45 PM, Lardadian Javon Banian, 25, of Pulaski, was taken into custody without further incident.

Banian was charged with possession of firearm by convicted felon.  At this point, the original incident is still under investigation.
