Mom found passed out with baby charged with child neglect

ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — A Roanoke mother is charged with child neglect after police say officers found her and two other adults passed out in a car while the woman’s infant daughter cried unrestrained in a child safety seat.
Media outlets report that officers called to a Roanoke parking lot on Sunday found an unconscious man and woman in the front seat of a car, and a baby and an unconscious woman who wasn’t breathing in the back. Rescue personnel revived 29-year-old April Maxwell with naloxone. Police say the uninjured infant was turned over to Child Protective Services.
Police charged 31-year-old Charles Breedlove and 39-year-old Stephanie Bush, the pair in the front seat, with being intoxicated in public. Maxwell is charged with felony child neglect.
Police say officers seized heroin paraphernalia from the car.
