Rockford UMC

There will be a Hot Dog Dinner/Basket & Baked Goods Auction at Rockford United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 21.  Hot Dog  Dinner starts at  5 p.m. featuring homemade chili. Basket/Baked Goods Auction begins  at 6 p.m. The church located at 6867 Viscoe Road in Fairlawn. All proceeds go to the Youth Group and the Building Fund.

 

Crossroads-The Apostolic Faith Church to host movie night

Crossroads – TAFC will host a movie night on April 21, 6:30 p.m. The church is located at Valley Medical Center(Suite C) at 4550 Lee Highway, Dublin, Refreshments will be served.

 

Jordan’s Chapel UMC to hold fundraiser

Jordan’s Chapel UMC will hold a fundraiser to send the pastor of the church, Rev. Becky Wheeler and Donnie to the Holy Land on Saturday, April 21 ,5 p.m. until sold out. The menu will be homemade spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert and drink. Cost: monetary donation. Dine or carry out available. The church is located at 5095 Alum Spring Rd., Pulaski.

New Mount Olive UMC host Friends & Family Day Celebration

Friends & Family Day Gospel Celebration of the Year “2018” at New Mount Olive United Methodist Church 309 Russell Avenue in Radford On Sunday April 22. Service will begin at 3 p.m. with Guest of the Service Bishop Michael Penn, Choir, & Congregation of The Galilean House of Worship of Martinsville, Va. Special Praise Dance by: Stepping For Christ (Sister Dance Team) Of Alia & Jianna Saunders of First Baptist Church of (555 West Rock Rd) in Radford. Dinner will be served right after service. The public is invited to attend.

 

Abundant Life Ministries to hold revival services

Special services will be held at Abundant Life Ministries Church beginning April 22 – Wednesday , April 25. The evangelists will be the Kelly’s from St. Louis, Mo. Marcus and Loretta travel the nation ministering in song an Word.  Marcus was a night club singer in Las Vegas until the Lord saved him many years ago. His ministry in song is truly anointed, with a variety of both hymns and contemporary music. Loretta’s ministry of the Word is very powerful and anointed. The Kelly’s have been at ALM several times, and always have been a blessing to the church. Services times are 10:30 a.m.  and 6 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. Mon. – Wed. Pastor Randall Lawrence and the congregation give the public and churches a special invitation to join them for these special revival services. Early Bloomers event to be held at Thyme to Grow Greenhouse

Our Early Bloomers event was so popular last year, we are holding it again this year.  Please join us, Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Thyme to Grow Greenhouse in Dublin, VA for a fun FREE interactive kid’s event.  Kids can get their hands in the dirt while planting a seed to take home, decorate garden markers, and create fun bird feeders. While here, explore the greenhouse with the kids.  As the saying goes, more than a seed is planted in a garden. We hope to see you there!

 

Radford COGIC Women’s Ministry invites women to luncheon

Radford COGIC Women’s Ministry invites all women to join them for a luncheon on Saturday, April 28 at 12 noon. The goal is to encourage and empower women of all ages to reach their goals, dreams and desires and realize it’s not too late to be who God called us to be as Women of God. Claytor Lake Beach Festival  will be Saturday, June 9, 2018 10 a.m.–  10 p.m. Claytor Lake State Park

Arts, Crafts, Food Vendors, Old Dominion Historical Fire Truck Drive In, Car/Motorcycle Show, Everett Lee Yearout, Jr. Adult/Youth Fishing Tournament/Essay Contest, Coast Guard Auxiliary Search & Rescue, Claytor Lake Sailing Association, Remote Control Airplanes, Cumulus Broadcasting Live Remote, Wine Tasting & Entertainment with Beach Music  &  a mini performance by the Wohlfahrt Haus.  The Grand Finale is Fireworks by Grucci at dusk.  There will be a parking fee of $10.00 or $5.00 & 5 cans of food.   A free shuttle service is provided from the parking lot at Wal-Mart in Dublin beginning at 6:00 pm. Relay for Life to be held in Fairlawn

Pulaski County and Radford City Relay for Life  will be held June 23, 2018 at Motor Mile Speedway located at 6749 Lee Highway Fairlawn, Va.  24141 Relay for Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  Relay for Life is volunteer driven in thousands of communities and 27 countries and around the world.  Volunteers give of their time and effort because they believe it’s time to take action against cancer.  Join us June 23 at Motor Mile Speedway for the Relay For Life of Pulaski County and Radford City from 11am – 11pm as we remember loved ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers, and raise money to help the American Cancer. Pulaski Flea Market Opens

Pulaski Flea Market is now open. The market is held every Saturday (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.) through October, 2018 . The Flea Market is held on Commerce St., across from the Train Station in Pulaski.

Group sets aside day each month to pray for County

A group of citizens of Pulaski County has set aside the 15th of each month to fast and pray for the county. The group asks that citizens who are of a like mind please join them in their effort.

 

Solomon’s Closet Clothing Bank

New and used clothing for children and adults. Requested donation of $1 for 10 items. Clothing donations, also accepted and welcome. The Clothing Bank is open the second and third Tuesdays 10 a.m. – 12 noon. New Life Church of the Nazarene is located at 45 S.Jefferson Ave., Pulaski.

 

Feeding America

Distribution of fresh produce and baked goods at New Life Church of the Nazarene each Saturday from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (no charge) on a first-come-first-served basis. The church is located 45 S. Jefferson Ave., Pulaski.

 

Ruth’s Harvest

Food pantry and boxes prepared for qualified recipients twice monthly. Applications available at the church office. New Life Church of the Nazarene is located at 45 S. Jefferson Ave., Pulaski.

 

Adult Day Care and Fall Prevention Center hosts monthly BINGO

Adult Day Service and Fall Prevention Center hosts BINGO on the 4th Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Ruritan building on 4th and Jefferson St in Pulaski. The building is located near Seagle’s Funeral Home. Everyone welcome!

 

AmVets Post #50 meets every Friday

Pulaski Old Time Jamboree

A Bluegrass Jam session for players of all ages is held every Thursday evening 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Pulaski Senior Center. Cowboy Church new ministry

On the third and fourth week of each month Cowboy Church  offers  food bags to the elderly and shut –ins.  On these weeks, interested participants may come by the church at 12 noon for pick up if able. Daily Bread is in need of servers on several different days, so if you can spare a few hours a week you may contact Debbi Harrell (Director) at 980-2131 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

 

Celebrate Recovery Support group at VHM

Valley Harvest Ministries in Dublin is now sponsoring a support group for people who are working through hurts, habits and hang- ups. The group meets each Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Food will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed at 7 p.m. with a large group meeting and then everyone will divide into smaller groups at 8 p.m. The church is located at 1 Harvest Place in Dublin.

 

Narcotics Anonymous

The NA group HOW meets each Sunday 6 p.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church located at 144 Washington Ave., in Pulaski. The meeting is open to everyone.
