Pulaski Police warn of new scam

Pulaski Police Department would like to warn the public of a recent telephone scam.

We have had complaints of an individual named “Tom,” that appears to be calling from a local number.

“Tom” requests credit card and banking information for a variety of reasons, including improved health insurance premiums, student loan assistance, banking assistance, and “free” prizes.

Unfortunately, scam artists are able to disguise phone numbers into local ones by using internet technology.

If you receive this call, simply hang up.  For additional tips, or to report telephone scams, you can visit the Federal Trade Commission’s website at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov.

For questions, contact Pulaski Police Department at (540) 994-8680.
