Republicans win statewide races in Pulaski County; Rush re-elected; Yost loses to Hurst

Republican Ed Gillespie lost his bid for governor Tuesday, but he won Pulaski County by a 2-to-1 margin.

Also winning big locally were Lt. Gov. candidate Jill Vogel and Attorney General candidate John Adams – both Republicans.

Statewide, the three state races went to Democrats Ralph Northam (Governor), Justin Fairfax (Lt. Gov.) and Mark Herring won re-election as Attorney General.

In the House races, with all but two precincts counted Republican incumbent Nick Rush is winning the 7th District seat over Democratic challenger Flo Ketner with 66 percent of the vote.

In the 12th District, Democratic challenger Christ Hurst has upset incumbent Republican Joseph Yost.
