28 From ACC Chosen on Day 2 of 2023 MLB Draft

(theACC.com) – After 12 Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes were picked on Day 1 of the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft, 28 players heard their names called on Day 2 with Rounds 3-10 concluding Monday afternoon. Overall, 40 ACC players have been selected in this year’s Draft.

Five standouts landed in the third round, headlined by Virginia Tech outfielder Jack Hurley who was selected 80th overall to Arizona. Wake Forest right-hander Seth Keener followed at No. 84 to the Chicago White Sox, while Boston College outfielder followed at No. 90 to St. Louis. The Demon Deacons made it five picks in the Top 100 when righty Teddy McGraw went 92nd overall to Seattle, while Miami outfielder CJ Kayfus landed 93rd overall to Cleveland.

A nation-leading nine Wake Forest players have been selected in the Draft, while Miami follows with six players. Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech and Louisville have seen three players apiece come off the board. The Cleveland Guardians have selected six ACC players, as 21 MLB teams have selected at least one ACC student-athlete.

The 2023 MLB Draft concludes Tuesday with rounds 11 through 20 beginning at 2 p.m.
