Pulaski County Lady Cougars Fall To Salem On Walk-Off

Pulaski County’s Lady Cougars fell to Salem 5-4 on Tuesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at four with Salem batting in the bottom of the seventh when Cora Robertson singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Pulaski County lost despite out-hitting Salem, seven to five.

The Lady Cougars got things moving in the first inning when starting pitcher Laken Greever singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Cora Robertson got the start for Salem, but the pitcher surrendered four runs on four hits over one and one-third innings, while striking out two. She was relieved by Cora Sparger who went five and two-thirds innings allowing three hits, but no runs.

Greever started the game for Pulaski County and went the distance, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out seven.

Pulaski County Cougars Varsity tallied one home run on the day. Emily Webb had a dinger in the first inning.

Lauren Cruise, Greever, Jordan Hill, Paige Huff, Erin Russell, Tori Vest, and Webb all had one hit to lead Pulaski County.

Caitlin Wells went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Salem in hits.

With the loss the Lady Cougars drop to 7-4 on the season and 2-3 in the River Ridge District.
