Sheriff: 17-year-old stabbed at Virginia rest stop
CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (AP) — A teenage boy was stabbed and wounded at a Virginia rest stop in what authorities say could be a road rage incident.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies responded to Radford Travel Center in Christiansburg on Monday afternoon. The 17-year-old was airlifted to a hospital in Roanoke.
The teen was not identified. His condition has not been released.
Authorities are looking for a burgundy Honda CRV with Virginia “scenic” license plates, based on a witness statement. The sheriff’s office says the car was driven by a woman, and the suspect is a male passenger.
No further details have been released.

I drove I-81 from Pulaski to Roanoke/Electric Road for 7 years (2003 to 2010). Those who’ve never travelled 500+ miles a week on it would be shocked at crazy behavior I’ve witnessed. NOT a safe road for a zillion reasons (I avoid it now like the plague).
Unfortunately whoever was stabbed made a terrible mistake pulling into the rest stop for a confrontation. Last thing they should have done, but didn’t know any better :<( Best to simply continue driving and, if the aggressor will not relent, call 911 giving your location by mile marker as the call continues. Fortunately I never had to do that, but have pealed off quickly onto exit ramps to escape a couple problems.
People are downright mean these days. Honestly and truly mean…..
