Sheriff’s office recovers stolen tractor, Dublin man arrested

On September 3, 2018 the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen John Deere 4230 Farm Tractor from 5101 Newbern Road. The tractor was taken from the property sometime between Saturday September 1, 2018 and Monday September 3, 2018.

Evidence visible on the date of the report led Corporal Todd Hayes to believe the tractor was driven away from the property and because the keys were not visible, the suspect would possibly have knowledge of how to start the tractor by other means.

During the investigation and following up on several leads, Corporal Hayes was led to a property on Deertrot Road on September 4, 2018 and found tracks consistent with that of a tractor which led into a field beside a residence.

With the assistance of the Criminal Investigations Division, search warrants were obtained for the property, to include the residence, in an effort to obtain a positive identification on the tractor and any additional stolen property missing from the tractor.

The stolen tractor was recovered and released to the owner. Adam Hornbarger of Dublin was questioned and subsequently confessed to taking the tractor. Hornbarger was arrested and transported to the New River Valley Regional Jail where warrants were obtained for grand larceny and concealing stolen property. Hornbarger is currently being held on a $2000 secured bond.
