Dublin man dies from injuries sustained in Route 11 crash

On January 31, 2019, at approximately 2:23 PM, the Pulaski Police Department responded to the intersection of Lee Highway and Morehead Lane in reference to a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles.

According to an witness, a gray Toyota pickup was attempting to turn southbound onto Lee Highway from Peppers Ferry Rd, when a silver Chevrolet sedan that was traveling north on Lee Highway failed to stop at the stoplight and struck the Toyota pickup.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski where he was treated and released.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Harvie Newton Bowles, 91, of Dublin, was transported to LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski and subsequently airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries in the early morning hours of today’s date.
