Obituary for Katherine Clark
Katherine Clark, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4 in Alpharetta, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents Kendell and Dorothy Kirkner; her husband Shelburn Clark; a son Ricky Clark; and a sister Janet Rodgers.
She is survived by a son Kendell and his wife Rebecca of Wilmington, NC; a daughter Angie and her twin sons Mike and Matt Trierweiler of Alpharetta, GA; and a brother Steve and his wife Cary of Pulaski, VA. She is also survived by many special in-laws, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Katherine grew up in Pulaski, Virginia where she spent most of her life. She was blessed to be married to her high school sweetheart for 58 years. She worked at New River Community College for multiple years as an administrative assistant. Katherine was an active member of Fairlawn Baptist church and committed follower of Jesus Christ. After Katherine retired, she and her husband moved to Alpharetta, GA in 2007 to be closer to her grandchildren.
One of the many special attributes Katherine had was an amazing gift with children. Her love and attention to them were magical. Her words will forever be remembered – “just call me grandma”. Katherine was unique and overly selfless. She never met a stranger, and all were welcome in her presence. Her ‘physical touch’ when speaking to you was a given and will be missed by many, as it delivered a kind and considerate love making everyone felt special and cared for.
Open visitation is scheduled for Sunday, October 9th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski, VA. The Graveside service is scheduled for Monday, October 10th at 2:00 pm at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, VA.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

I am a friend of Angie. Although I was only around her a handful of times, I was drawn to her immediately. Such a lovely lady.

Her smile and touching your hand was her trademark. She was so kind and we always wanted Angie’s mom to come to the girls gatherings. What a special lady who will be remembered for an eternity. Now god has her happiness.

I’m going to miss Katherine. I met Katherine years ago when Angie had her twins and upon meeting her I thought to myself she is the kindest soul I have ever met. She saw goodness in everyone she met.
One beautiful spring day we took the twins to the Renaissance Festival. Feeling a bit adventurous, me and Katherine thought we would try the mead and oh my did she have me cracking up laughing.
I have so many wonderful memories of Katherine; looking forward to reminiscing with you Angie when the time is right. Love and Light ~ Dianne
