Harry Ted Covey, 81, of Max Meadows died unexpectedly on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Radford Health & Rehab in Radford. Harry was born on January 21, 1942, in Hiwassee Virginia to Herbert and Sadie Phillips Covey who preceded him in death alongside a sister, Mary ann Dean and brother, Harley Covey.

Harry was a well-educated individual with a master’s degree in engineering from Appalachian State University. A man with many talents and a love for fishing and hunting. Among his many passions was the love he had for his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving and supportive wife, Shirley Covey, daughter, Rhonda Peyton (Paul) of Pearisburg, and Pam Chrisley of Wytheville. Sons, Ronald Covey of Pulaski, Howard Covey of Lynchburg, Joe Covey (Betty Anne) of Virginia Beach, and Scott Chrisley of Hillsville.

Harry often bragged about his 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren (with one on the way).

Also surviving Harry is a sister, Emma Surber of Pulaski as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members including his two cats, Annabel and Rocky.

Harry also leaves behind many friends as well as brothers and sisters in Christ who loved him and prayed for him at the Glenwood Methodist Church

A visitation will be held in the chapel of Norris Funeral Services located at 815 Randolph Avenue in Pulaski on Thursday, June 29, from 6:00 until 8:00.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 30, at 1:00 in the sanctuary of Glenwood Methodist Church located at 3553 Foster Falls Road in Barren Springs. Services will be officiated by Pastor, Lee Wiggins of the Glenwood Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Draper Memorial Christian Church Cemetery.
