Lady Cougars go to 4-0, beat Northside

Pulaski County’s Lady Cougars basketball team won their fourth game of the season on the road Wednesday, defeating Northside, 60-50.
The Lady Cougars are now 4-0 on the season.
Pulaski County placed four players in double-figures against the Lady Vikings. Chacha Calfee led the way with 15 points. Palyn Sweet dropped in 11, while Kaliyah Green and Ellie MacDonald both added 10.
The Cougars trailed after one quarter, 19-16 but used saw balanced scoring in the second to overtake the Vikings going into intermission, 32-29.
MacDonald and Calfee both scored four points in the quarter to lead Pulaski County’s comeback.
The Cougars won the third quarter as well, outscoring the Vikings 13-9 to take a 45-38 lead into the final stanza.
The fourth quarter was more of the same, as the Cougars closed out the Vikings for their fourth straight win to open the 2025-26 season.
The girls continue their busy week and play again Thursday night at Blacksburg at 7 p.m.
The Lady Cougars participate in the Carroll County Christmas Tournament in Hillsville Dec. 19-22.
