Fort Chiswell whips Galax

The Fort Chiswell Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team dispatched the Galax Maroon Tide on Friday 91-31 in a packed house at the Fort. The contest was in hand early as the Pioneers turned-up their effort on defense and won the first quarter 28-7 and continued the same hectic pace in the second quarter putting up 36 and only allowing 11. Ten players scored in the game for the Pioneers. Ty Crockett and Owen Jackson shot the ball really well from behind the 3 point line as both players hit four bombs a piece. Crockett had a career night with 18 points and three steals and Jackson led all scorers with 28 points and two big dunks.

FC finished with 10 players scoring: Landon Eversole 9, Kenton Sutphin 7, Jessie Ayers 7, Eli Eversole 6, Eli Armbrister 6, Mason Cirba 4, Cade Mcpherson 3, and Seth Petrunyak 3. Eli Armbrister and Kenton Sutphin also finished with 5 steals a piece on the defensive end.

With the win, the Pioneers improved their overall record to 9 wins and 5 loses with Auburn coming to FC on Tuesday.
