USED-BOOK SALE:

On Friday, September 4th, from 9 to 5, in the little red bookshop behind the Wythe County Public Library, 300 E. Monroe St., Wytheville, the well-attended book sales are continuing.  All are welcome!  Note that there will NOT be a sale on Saturday, the 5th, since the library will be closed for the holiday weekend.  Come and browse and take home some good reads!

 

Sept. 5

 

VFW Auxiliary Post 1184 Pulaski will host quarter Bingo Saturday, September 5th at the Ruritan Club Building on Jefferson Ave., Pulaski, 11 am to 2 pm. Snacks will be available for purchase. Everyone welcome.

 

HELP DESK

On Saturday, September 5th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Wytheville Farmers Market, 210 W. Spring St., the Mountain Empire Master Gardeners will be available to answer any of your questions about horticulture.  Information will be given about Saving Seeds for flowers and vegetables.  Discussions will take place on the strengths and failures of gardening and landscapes, including the importance of Soil Testing.  The event is FREE.  All are welcome!

The American Soldier

The Leonard E. McCoy VFW Post 5311 presents Douglas Taurel’s The American Soldier at the Lyric Theater in downtown Blacksburg, VA on September 9, 2026. This is a solo show that honors our veterans and military personnel and their families. The Blue Ridge Vocal Connection will present a special concert performance.

 

 

 

 

September 12

 

Join us at Mountain View UMC for Homecoming Celebration on Sunday September 13 at 11:15. A musical story of Jesus – “From Nazareth to Glory.” Meal to follow in Fellowship Hall. Saturday, September 12 is Decoration Day for Mountain View Community Cemetery. You are invited to Decorate your loved ones grave. Many stones have been cleaned and reset.

 

 

55th Reunion

Pulaski High School Class of 1971 will celebrate its 55th reunion on Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Historic Train Station in Pulaski. The social time will begin at 3:30 and a catered meal will begin at 5 p.m. The cost is $35 per person or $65 per couple. 35th Homecoming

Bread of Life Assembly of God on Robinson Tract Road will celebrate its 35th Homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 13 beginning at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and join us for this special occasion.

 

 

Gospel Singing

September 13th at Thornspring UMC, M.G. Covey will be singing during our 11 AM worship service. Everyone is welcomed to come worship with us.

 

 

Sept. 14

PLANT-BASED COOKING SCHOOL:

Monday, September 14th, at 6:30 pm, at the Wytheville SDA Church, 1600 Chapman Rd, Wytheville. Come and join us as we are learning ways to prevent, reverse, and/or improve pre-diabetes and type II diabetes one bite at a time in a simple, delicious way. DHS Class of ’62 Reunion

Dublin High School Class of 1962 get-together!!!! The reunion committee has scheduled a gathering for September 16, 2026 at 4 PM at Sal’s Italian Restaurant, West End, Radford, Virginia from 4 PM until as long as you’d like to stay.  Each will order their own meal and beverage and be responsible for that. Sons of Confederate Veterans

The Sons of Confederate Veterans, Stuart Horse Artillery Camp 1784 will meet on Thursday, September 17, 7pm at the NRV Superbowl on 375 Arbor Drive NE in Christiansburg. Members of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) are also invited to attend.

60th Reunion for DHS Class of ’66

The Dublin High School Class of 1966 is celebrating its 60th Class Reunion on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at the Thornspring Golf Course and Event Center, 4360 Country Club Drive, Pulaski, VA 24301.

Heritage Cares Food Pantry at Heritage Church is still distributing food on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The church is located a half-mile past the New River Valley Airport on Route 100 North of Dublin.

The Dublin High School breakfast for DHS alumni and friends meets every first Wednesday at the Dublin Lions Club.
