Lillie “Mae” Goins Hayes

Lillie “Mae” Goins Hayes, age 89 of Lillydell Circle, Dublin passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at her home.

 

Born September 2, 1937 in Bland, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Victor Robert Goins & Gladys Mae Helton Goins.

 

She was also preceded in death by her daughter Robin Akers; daughter-in-law Tammy  Hayes; brothers Victor Goins, David Goins, John Goins and sister Louise Nelson.

 

Mae is survived by her

 

Husband of 72 years – Gerald “Jerry” Morrice Hayes, Sr. – Dublin

 

Children – Barbara Mae Hayes – Dublin, Gerald Morrice (Bonnie) Hayes, Jr. – Dublin, Charles Robert Hayes – Bland, Jordan Akers – Dublin

 

Grandchildren – Jackie (Betty) Akers, Jr., Adam (Tiffany) Akers, Jennifer (John) Akers, Matthew Hayes

 

Great Grandchildren – Taylor, Kaylie, Michael “Mikey”, Nathan

 

Brothers & Sisters – Betty (Kenneth) Carter – Bland, Richard (Mary Lou) Goins – Bland, Doug (Jenny) Goins – Bland, Sharon Wolfe – Fairlawn

 

Son-in-law – Jackie Lee Akers – Dublin

 

Many nieces and nephews

 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM – Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Andre Lavache officiating. Interment will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin.

 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
