Pulaski County Runners Turn in Strong Showing at Gathering of the Harriers

Pulaski County’s cross country runners turned in a strong performance
Saturday at the Gathering of the Harriers at Hungry Mother State Park
in Marion.

The Cougars competed just short of having complete scoring teams, with
four boys and four girls taking the course. Despite being one runner
shy on each side, Pulaski County had several strong individual
finishes and showed the depth to be competitive with a full lineup.

Nina Bucey-Card led the girls with a fifth-place finish in 22:03.88.
Brianna Farmer followed with a strong 14th-place finish, Dani Carroll
placed 17th, and Katina Caldera finished 36th.

On the boys’ side, Cecil Black and Jonah Morgan gave the Cougars a
pair of top-10 finishes. Black placed ninth in 18:13.18, while Morgan
finished 10th in 18:13.64, just 0.46 seconds apart. Daniel Eubanks
placed 44th, and Mason Hayes finished 47th.

Overall, it was another strong outing for Pulaski County as the team
continues to build through the season. The Cougars are expected to
field full boys’ and girls’ teams Saturday at the Alleghany XC
Invitational at Jackson River Sports Complex in Covington, where they
will compete against a much larger field.
