Hung K. Lui

Hung K. Lui passed away on September 16, 2026. He grew up in Pulaski Virginia, graduated from PCHS as salutatorian before earning his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Virginia Tech.
A proud veteran, he enlisted in the Navy, where he was selected for the Navy nuclear power community and later Officer Candidate School. Following his commission as a US Naval Officer, Hung served in the Naval aviation and submarine communities before transitioning to Information Technology in the private sector.
Hung returned to his roots in Pulaski, where he used his skills as an avid photographer for the benefit of the community. He lovingly chronicled the beauty of this town and its people, whether it be the glow of the Jackson Park Christmas lights or the excitement of a 4th of July Yankees game. His photographic crown jewel was capturing the serene images of a train making its way through the peaceful winter snow.
Hung’s absence has been keenly felt by his family and those whose lives he touched. We miss him.
“Under the wide and starry sky…Glad did I live and gladly die…Home is the sailor, home from the sea.”
The family is in the care of Norris – Pulaski.
