Alabama man arrested after high speed chase through county

An Alabama man is in custody after leading state police on a high speed chase through Pulaski and Montgomery counties Thursday.

The Virginia State Police received information that a subject driving a vehicle displaying a Alabama tag had made threats to harm another and was traveling to through Virginia on Interstate 81.  Troopers located the vehicle and attempted to stop the black Dodge Ram 1500 in Pulaski County.  The vehicle refused to stop and led Troopers on a chase.  The vehicle was disabled with stop sticks on Interstate 81 northbound, at the 114.8 mile marker and the subject was taken into custody without incident.

Kenneth Roy Williams, 53, of  Meridianville, AL, was charged with the following: 2 counts of attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer, 2 counts of felony elude, 3 counts of Reckless Driving, 2 counts of obstruction of justice, 1 count of destruction of property, and 1 count of hit and run.

Williams is currently being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail.
