All-Region 4D teams announced; Big year for PCHS girls hoops program

     The past basketball season was a big year for the Pulaski County girls program and the Class 4, Region D team is perfect evidence of that. The 21-7 and quarterfinalists in the state tournament dominated the all-region team.

     Brad Sutphin was named “Co-Coach of the Year” along with E.C. Glass’ Anita Thomas. Senior point guard Maddie Ratcliff was named to the all-region first team. The strength and depth of the Cougar program surfaces after that. Ally Fleener and Keslyn Secrist both made the all-region second unit, and Paige Huff was honorable mention.

    On the all-region boys front Kapone Bailey of GW-Danville was “Player of the Year,” and Sterling Williams of Halifax was “Coach of the Year.” Pulaski County’s Hayden Gray was named second team all-region. A.J. McCloud was honorable mention.
