Pulaski County Commonwealth’s Attorney Justin Griffith made the following statement this afternoon:
John Logan Davidson has been charged and arrested for the damage that occurred on Route 11 near the site of the wreck that took the life of Perry Hodge.
Davidson has been charged with reckless driving, destruction of property, and leaving the scene of an accident.
The county is thankful for the work of the Virginia State Police and the support from the community, yet another example of how Pulaski County is united and strong.

Thankful for the arrest. It’s amazing what individuals think they can get away with in life.

Charges dont convict and all are innocent until proven guilty by a trial by peers. The Plea Bargaining has become a disgrace to take our rights away.

Perry Hodge was a good man and a great police officer. He didn’t deserve what happened to him and his family left behind surely dosen’t deserve it. All I can say to the man who killed Officer Hodge and the the one who tried to destroy a beautiful memorial to honor Officer Hodge may you get your just reward.

It’s not clear to me whether Davidson damaged the memorial purposefully, or rather by accident in the course of losing control of his vehicle. I assume it’s the latter scenario. Anyone know for sure?
