Arrest made in Sunday incident in Fairlawn

On Sunday April 28, 2019 at approximately 10:30 pm the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Old Pepper’s Ferry Loop in the Fairlawn Section of Pulaski County in reference to shots fired, multiple subjects fighting and one subject had been shot and ran over by a vehicle.

Upon arrival deputies learned a vehicle with multiple subjects had left the area and detained numerous subjects on the scene. The vehicle which fled the area was located by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Christiansburg Police Department, who detained all the occupants until their involvement in the incident was known.

During the investigation, it was learned through witness statements and evidence gathered at the scene, three occupants in an SUV stopped in front of the Fairlawn Apartments when a white male held them at gun point demanding money. A male occupant exited the vehicle stating the money was in the rear of the SUV and the two began to fight over the firearm which discharged several times during the fight.

The subject with the firearm was injured and the driver and passengers of the SUV fled the scene. The suspect was identified as Kasey May of Dublin who was transported by rescue due to his injuries to the New River Valley Medical Center. Upon release form the hospital, May was arrested for Attempted Armed Robbery, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Possession of Narcotics and Possession of Paraphernalia. Additional charges pending at a later date.
