Big sixth inning gives River Turtles win

Johnson City Doughboys lost the lead late in a 4-1 defeat to Pulaski River Turtles on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with Pulaski River Turtles batting in the top of the sixth when Tommy Woods homered on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.

Pulaski River Turtles pulled away for good with four runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth an error scored one run for Pulaski River Turtles.

Ty Ruhl was the winning pitcher for Pulaski River Turtles. The righthander lasted six innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out five. Chaz Marte and Paco Hernandez entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Hernandez recorded the last out to earn the save for Pulaski River Turtles.

Leo O’Shinski took the loss for Johnson City Doughboys. The lefthander went one inning, allowing two runs on one hit, striking out one and walking zero.
