Carl Michael “Mickey” Viars

viars carl michaelCarl Michael “Mickey” Viars, 72, of Blountville, went to be with Jesus in Heaven with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born in Pulaski, VA and he and his wife have resided in Blountville for 20+ years.

Mickey was a member of Grace Point Church of God, Bristol, TN.

He enjoyed singing gospel music with his wife and family. Mickey enjoyed muscle cars, watching football and good southern food. He was a lot of fun and enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh. Mickey loved spending time with his wife and family.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Berta Bond Viars.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Beckner Viars, -daughter, Crystal Rupe and husband, Rev. Scott; sons, Rev. Christopher Viars and wife, Heaven and Jason Viars; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Preston and Alyssa and Ripley Rupe, Trey and Alexia and Alayna and Amon and Asher and (Amora in heaven) Rupe, Gavin Rupe and Ellecea Rupe, and Jase Viars, and Natalie Viars and Mavis McMurry, and Nicholas and Selana, and Layla and Ryker and Salem Steffey; Sister, Susan and Nicky Hall; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services.

A Going Home Celebration will be held from 12 pm to 2 pm with Rev. Brenda Viars, Rev. Christopher Viars, Jason Viars and Crystal Rupe officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Brenda Viars, Rev. Christopher Viars and Jason Viars.

A Graveside Service will follow at 3 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Hope. Pallbearers will be Christopher Viars, Jason Viars, Preston Rupe, Trey Rupe, Gavin Rupe, Nicholas Steffey, Lewis Beckner, and Jerry Beckner. Honorary pallbearers will be Susan Viars Hall and husband, Nicky.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the families and friends for their love support and prayers.
