Class 4A All State team announced

Dinwiddie and Louisa dominate the Class 4A Virginia High School League All State Football team announced this week. Dinwiddie placed 10 positions on the first and second team, Louisa eight. Out of the River Ridge District, state champion Salem placed six positions on the team, and Blacksburg three, all on the second team

The Offensive Player of the Year was Louisa’s Malik Bell, and the Lions also got the Defensive Player of the Year, linebacker Tony Thursday. Salem’s Steven Magenbauer was Coach of the Year.

On the first team offensive unit, running back DeAngleo Ramsey and wide receiver Viante Tucker were named from Salem, and on the first team defense Spartan defensive backs Joe Quinn and Nick Wade made the team.

On the second unit, Thomas Farrell was named as an offensive lineman, and Nate Craft as the kicker for Salem. Blacksburg placed running back Coleton Beck and wide receiver Tiquest Terry on the second team offense, and Gideon Driscoll on the second team defensive line.
