Claytor Lake State Park plans Halloween Celebration
Claytor Lake State Park will hold its annual Halloween Celebration on October 26, 2019. 1:00 p.m. – 9:45 p.m.
Here’s the Schedule:
1 p.m. to 2 p.m.-The Spooky Box-Rangers will be throughout the campgrounds with a frightful Spooky Box.
1 p.m. to 6 p.m.-Mini-games and crafts available at Shelter 5.
1 p.m.-Pumpkin Carving Contest-Pumpkins will be provided at Shelter 5 and a few tools will be available for use. You may decorate pumpkins at the shelter or at your campsite. All pumpkins must be back to Shelter 5 by 4 p.m. for judging and awards.
5:30 p.m.-Costume Contests-Meet at Shelter 5. First children, then adults, and finally pets. Awards will be given after each round.
6 p.m. to 7 p.m.-State park guests Trick or Treating-Throughout the Campgrounds and Cabin area.
7 p.m.-Campsite Decorating Contest-Judging will begin at 7 p.m. Winner receives a gift certificate good for a 2 night free camping stay. Winners will be announced at 8 p.m. at the Interpretative Campfire Circle in D Campground.
6 p.m.-9:45 p.m.-Backwoods of Terror-Think you’re brave enough to find your way down the Haunted Trail and then feel your way through our scary Haunted House at Shelter 1? Admission is $5 per person.
Free hay wagon shuttles will run every half hour from the Picnic Shelter 5 to the Interpretative Campfire Circle in Campground D from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. weather permitting.
