Cougar girls move to 15-5

It was not one of the most impressive performances on the season but the Pulaski County’s girls basketball team moved to a perfect 10-0 in the River Ridge District and 15-5 overall on the season with a 46-38 win at Blacksburg Saturday. The Bruins drop to 12-8 on the season.
The Cougars had defeated Blacksburg handily earlier in the season, 57-31, but weren’t able to fire on all cylinders in the rematch. Pulaski Co. led only 21-13 at the half, but created space in the third quarter and led going into the final eight minutes, 35-22, but the Bruins were able to keep contact and outscored the Cougars by five in the fourth quarter for the final, 46-38 tally.
Keslyn Secrist was the only double figure scorer in the game for Pulaski County and she finished with 12. Skyler Prosser had a game high 16 points for Blacksburg. The Lady Cougars will return home for “Senior Night” Tuesday evening. The opponent will be Cave Spring.
