Cougar girls win, boys lose opener

The 2022-23 high school basketball season opened Monday night for Pulaski County’s boys, while the Lady Cougars traveled to Roanoke.

The girls rallied to beat William Fleming, 51-50.

The boys battled, but came in on the short end of a 69-48 final at Carroll County.

Both the boys and girls junior varsity teams won.
