Cougars to take on Bobcats in ‘Benefit Game’

Things are starting to come together as far as next football season is concerned for Pulaski County. The off-season weight training and physical conditioning program has been in place for a few months and soon summer workouts will begin. That’s standard procedure in prep football these days.

The 2018 season will also be the final year of the current scheduling agreement and there will be changes ahead in that area for the Cougars and you can read about that in today’s Locker Room on page B1. There is some uncertainly in a future that could include schedule change for PCHS, or remain the same. Time and lots of discussion will determine such things in the near future.

But the pre-season for the 2018 Cougars is in place.

The Touchdown Classic returns and promises to be a very exciting event, and you can read about that, too, in today’s Locker Room.

An old familiar foe of sorts returns to the scene as well on Friday evening, August 17th.

That’s the evening of a pre-season football game, a “Benefit Game” if you will, and the Cougars will take on the Bobcats of Radford on the other side of Memorial Bridge.

The two teams are not of the same classification or district, but the matchup always brings enthusiasm when the neighboring schools do battle on the gridiron.
