Lady Cougars Lose Lead Early In softball defeat

cougar pawPulaski County watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-3 loss to Floyd County on Friday.

Floyd County scored on a single by Ally Hodge and a single by Emma Boostereld in the first inning.

Boostereld was the winning pitcher for Floyd County. She allowed six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out five.

Laken Greever took the loss for Pulaski County. The righty surrendered six runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Paige Huff led the Lady Cougars with two hits in three at bats.

Floyd County tallied 11 hits in the game. Carlie Thompson, Hodge, Kylie Hylton, and Taryn Roberston all managed multiple hits for Floyd County. Thompson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Floyd County in hits.

The loss evens Pulaski County’s record at 1-1 on the season.
