Divers recover body of Princeton man in Claytor Lake

On Friday, Aug. 23 around 9:30 pm the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Pulaski County Emergency Management and Newbern Fire Department responded to Covey Campground in the Dublin area of Pulaski County, in reference to a missing swimmer.

After initial investigation the Pulaski County Search and Rescue Team and The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries responded along with Dive Teams from Christiansburg Fire Department, Longshop McCoy Fire Department, Radford Fire Department and Blacksburg Fire Department.

The victim, Kevin Roy, 39 years old of Princeton, WV. was located deceased shortly after divers began the search in the area that Roy was last seen. The body was released to the medical examiner’s office for further examination.

The incident is still under investigation at this time.
