If things go as now planned, the long-awaited Draper Community Park will be completed by March of 2023.
Assistant County Administrator Anthony Akers reported to the Board of Supervisors on Monday that the concrete pad for the shelter at the park will be poured next week.
Akers continued that the shelter itself will be erected in February as well as a small restroom facility.
“That will complete the Draper park project,” Akers added. “So, in 2023, Draper will have a very nice, fully functional park and we will improve the trail at the bottom as well.”
County Administrator Jonathan Sweet said the Draper park project has taken a lot longer to complete than was expected, but he thinks the park will end up being a “lot nicer than expected,” as he said several of the delays in completing the project have turned out to be disguised blessings.
Akers also noted the work of the Draper Park Committee in seeing the project to a successful completion.
