Draper man leads police on chase Saturday

On Saturday March 30th, 2019 at approximately 11:00 pm Deputy Szczur conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Pontiac for suspected Impaired Driving in the Fairlawn Section of Pulaski County. While approaching the vehicle, the driver fled from the traffic stop and drove to Dublin on Old Route 11 where Sergeant Akers was able to utilize spike strips to deflate the tires of the suspect vehicle.

The driver continued into the Town of Dublin and onto Darst Avenue where he pulled into a driveway and through the back yard striking a boat located on the property. The pursuit continued through the parking lot of Dublin United Methodist Church across Locust Avenue towards Bower Funeral Home where Deputies from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and Officers from the Dublin Police Department where able to box the vehicle in and end the pursuit.

The driver was identified as 23-year-old Zackary Lee Pauley of Draper who was arrested for Felony Eluding, Possession of Schedule I Drugs, Possession of Schedule II Drugs, Possession of Marijuana, Hit and Run Unattended Property, Reckless Driving and Driving on a Revoked License. Pauley is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail.
