Draper Park backboard struck by vandals again
The Draper Community Park Board has been diligently working on major improvements to the new Draper Community Park in conjunction with the County of Pulaski. The new basketball court and goals are a big part of this newly established, on-going, park project.
“Unfortunately we have experienced another round of vandalism to one of our basketball goal backboards. Per the picture above, it appears someone has thrown rocks at the goal and ultimately shattered the backboard,” said Assistant County Administrator Anthony Akers.
County officials say the vandalism occurred Monday evening (July 15).
“We had this happen last year and after putting out a reward, we had a confession which led to four boys making restitution as well as community service,” said Akers.
The County of Pulaski is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual that committed this act of vandalism. The reward will be granted once the culprit is identified, arrested, and charged in a court of law. Please call Akers at 980-7705 with any information that may be helpful in finding the person responsible for this vandalism.
