Dublin Treasurer, Wright retiring this week

dublin sealFor the first time in some 35 years, the Town of Dublin will have to hire a new treasurer.

Dublin Town Treasurer Rebecca L. Wright has announced her retirement, effective January 15, 2026 at the end of her current appointed term.

In Dublin, department heads such as the treasurer are appointed by council to one-year terms. The appointment usually comes during the first council meeting of the year.

Wright is a 42-year employee of the town.

“After 42 years of employment with the Town, 35 of those years as Treasurer, I have decided to retire,” Wright told The Patriot today.  “I am grateful for the opportunity to have served the citizens of the Town of Dublin and I appreciate the support I have received during my tenure.  It has been a rewarding experience in which I have grown personally and professionally.  I look forward to spending more time with family and pursuing several hobbies and interests.”
