Went home to be with his lord and savior on Friday November 24 2023.  Born May 1st 1941 in Giles County, he was the son of the late Ben V. Beamer & Nancy Sexton Beamer. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Freda, daughter, Wanda Yvonne Beamer, brother, Donald Beamer, sister, Joyce Beamer, brother-in-law, Edwin Hall and sister-in-law, Ingrid Beamer.

On May 28, 2004, Edwin married Freda Watson Hall, who made the last 19 years of their life some of her most enjoyable and memorable.  Together, they traveled the country and saw nearly every state.  Freda and Ed were “joined at the hips.”  Where you saw one, you saw the other beside or not too far behind.

Known to most as Ed, he spent 4 years in the Air Force as an electrical Aircraft mechanic, before coming back to the states and eventually working for C&P telephone company, now Verizon.  In his earlier days he enjoyed bowling and fishing.  However, his passion was woodworking and many of his family are blessed to have pieces of furniture crafted by him.  He was a proud father, grandaddy and great grandaddy.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his children Sheryl Jarrells – Hiwassee, Tricia Frazier and husband Bo – Hiwassee, Allen Tabor – Radford; stepchildren – Brian Watson and his wife, Lisa; Edwina McDaniel and her husband Dale; grandchildren, Danielle, Zach, Ashley, Austin and Grace, step grandchildren, Rusty, Robert, Adam, Tyler and Justin; five great grandchildren and six great step grandchildren.

A small graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM – Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Dishon/Page Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Trail and Pastor Ray Bolen officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Fariss Mines Christian Church c/o Pat Taylor 376 Farris Mines Road Allisonia, VA 24347.
