Escobar’s Walk-Off Picture Perfect Ending In Pulaski River Turtles’s Victory Over Burlington Sock Puppets
Pulaski River Turtles defeated Burlington Sock Puppets 11-10 on Wednesday thanks to a walk-off single. Pulaski River Turtles was down 10-9 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Irvin Escobar singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.
After Burlington Sock Puppets scored one run in the top of the second, Pulaski River Turtles answered with one of their own. Burlington Sock Puppets scored when Nick Winkelmeyer‘s sac fly scored one run for Burlington Sock Puppets. Pulaski River Turtles then answered when Cameron Leary hit a solo homer.
Carter Lyles was credited with the victory for Pulaski River Turtles. Lyles allowed four hits and three runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one. Dalton Ross, Charlie Coon, and Brett Vasquez all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
