Flood warning issued for Pulaski, Wythe counties

The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Central Pulaski County in southwestern Virginia...
  Northeastern Wythe County in southwestern Virginia...

* Until 615 AM EDT Thursday.

* At 1213 AM EDT, Peak creek was flooding with a stage of 8.8 feet.
  Flood stage is 8 feet. At 8.5 feet, Dora Highway floods near
  Heritage Park. One to three inches of rain has fallen over the
  past 24 hours and an additional one-half to one inch of rain is
  expected through the early morning hours. This will result in
  minor flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Pulaski...
  Dublin...
  Max Meadows...
  Allisonia...
  Claytor Dam...
  Fort Chiswell...
  and Claytor Lake State Park.
