Former Hokie Bush transfers to Illinois

It’s been a long and winding road for A.J. Bush, Virginia Tech’s backup quarterback last season. Bush transferred to Tech from Iowa Western where he was basically a backup quarterback there after he transferred from Nebraska in hopes of getting playing time and new start.

Now Bush has enough credits to get his degree and has decided to become a graduate transfer to Illinois for his fifth and final season of college football.

The Hokies have returning starter Josh Jackson at quarterback and backup Ryan Willis. Jackson is from Michigan, Willis from Kansas. Tech does have freshman recruit Quincy Patterson from Chidago coming to camp.
