Former school superintendent, Siers announces retirement

Former Pulaski County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Kevin Siers has announced he will retire at the end of the current school year.
The Roanoke Times is reporting Siers, now superintendent in Franklin County told the school board there he will be stepping down as superintendent at the end of the school year and submitting is retirement paperwork later in the year.
Siers is reported in the Times article to be planning a move back to his former home in West Virginia to care for his father.
Siers began his work in Franklin County in May of 2023. The announcement of his hiring there was made late on a Friday afternoon during a special called school board meeting. At the same time as his resignation was being announced in Pulaski County.
