Free public Wi-Fi available now in Downtown Pulaski

Beginning on December 30th, a free public Wi-Fi network was made available for use by residents and visitors of the Town of Pulaski in our downtown area. The new network has been made available through the use of CARES Act funds that the Town of Pulaski received to combat the negative effects of COVID-19 on our public health and safety, as well as the financial impact on our business community.
The main goal of this publicly available Wi-Fi network is to drive foot traffic into our downtown area. At this time, the network can be accessed along the stretch of West Main Street from the intersection with Jefferson Avenue to the intersection with Washington Avenue. It may also be accessed on 3rd Street between the Jefferson Avenue and Washington Avenue intersections, and in Jackson Park across from the Municipal Building. It is our hope that by providing readily accessible high speed internet, foot traffic to these areas will spur interest in Main Street storefronts leading to increased spending at those businesses. It also provides those who may not otherwise have internet access with a free, easy method to surf the World Wide Web. In an age where important information is most easily accessible online, free internet access continues to become more relevant in smaller communities like ours.
Connection to the network is simple; on your mobile device or computer, look for the network labeled ‘Town of Pulaski Free Wi-Fi’. After agreeing to the terms and conditions set forth by All Points Broadband, all you have to do is click the ‘login’ button and you’ll be connected to the network. There is a usage time limit of one hour for a connected device, and explicit content will be filtered and inaccessible through the network. Due to the limitations of the network, video streaming will not be possible.
Mentioned above, All Points Broadband is the company the Town partnered with to make this possible. We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to their team for working to have the network up and running before the end of the year, which took a tremendous amount of hard work. We’d also like to thank the Pulaski County Information Technology Department for working to coordinate with All Points Broadband on the installation of equipment. Without their help, this project would have been much more difficult to implement.
