Golf Tournament to Benefit Fire Departments May 4

The Ruritan Road Ruritan Club members are busy planning their second annual Fireball Charity Golf Challenge – set for Saturday, May 4 with a rain date of May 5. Thorn Spring Golf Course & Event Center will once again be hosts for the event which netted the club $4,000 for Pulaski County fire departments.

Although the participants had to dodge two hurricanes and reschedule once, the first Fireball Charity Golf Challenge in the fall of 2018 allowed the club to donate $500 to eight fire departments at a dinner in November. Cash prizes were awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams, as well as prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin.  Lots of great door prizes were also given out.  Participants in the 2018 event are pictured.

In November, representatives from the eight volunteer fire departments were invited to join the club for dinner, where they were each presented with a check for $500.
