Griffith: Harrell sentenced to 10 years in prison for numerous possession of child pornography convictions

Commonwealth Attorney Justin Griffith

To the Public,

Today, Nathan Christopher Harrell, was sentenced for his numerous July 13, 2022 convictions for possession of child pornography. The Court sentenced him to 190 years with the Virginia Department of Corrections with a 10-year active prison sentence.

This investigation was a multiple agency coordinated effort. The Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force ran out of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office was, once again, instrumental in assisting Pulaski County. In addition, an Investigator from the Town of Christiansburg Police Department played a vital role in assisting the climb of justice with our County. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division continues to do an outstanding job gathering evidence and working with our office to make sure these cases receive the outcomes we strive to obtain.

Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney, James Crandall, did a first-class job advocating on behalf of the children in these videos and photos. Speaking for those that are unable to speak for themselves is one of the most prideful duties we carry forward. Justice is our watchword and we will always seek to be an instrument of good in this County.

Proudly serving,

Justin L. Griffith, Commonwealth’s Attorney Pulaski County
