Griffith Statement on Obamacare Tax Repeal
Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 748, the Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act:
“After crying foul for years whenever Republicans voted to repeal Obamacare or part of it, Democrats today put forward their own repeal of some of Obamacare’s taxes and voted to pass it.
“It is important that Democrats now recognize Obamacare doesn’t work as promised, but what has changed? The difference now is that Democrats want to repeal Obamacare and replace it with socialized medicine. I welcome their recognition of Obamacare’s flaws, but socialized medicine won’t help Americans, either.”

While I agree that the ACA should go into the dumpster, we can easily have Medicare for all. Rep. Griffith is completely wrong in his views on socialized medicine and he knows it too. One question for him should be, how much money is he receiving from insurance and pharmaceutical corporations? That is who stands to lose under a medicare for all system. No one else.
Besides, paying for it is a no brainer. Scale back military spending from it’s outrageous amount of over half the budget, (close to $1 TRILLION) and follow the constitution of the United States as the law of the land. Under that document, the military is a defense force, not a force garrisoning the globe and waging unconstitutional and unwinnable wars.

Mr. Griffith, what is your alternative?
