GW beats PCHS boys, 56-49

     The Pulaski County boys basketball team saw its record fall to 3-5 Friday evening with a 56-49 defeat at the hands of George Wythe in the opening round of the First Community Bank Holiday Tournament at Fort Chiswell High School in Max Meadows.
     The game was close until the stretch run. Going into the fourth quarter the Cougars trailed by only one, 39-38, but got outscored 17-11 in the fourth quarter. Avery Mabe had a game high 16 points for GW and the Maroons also got 13 from Peyton Coe.
     The Pulaski County effort was led by Haydon Gray, Josh Bourne, and A.J. McCloud who all scored 11 points. Peyton Blackburn added eight.
