Janice Marie (Cressell) Eastridge

Janice Marie Eastridge, 79 known by so many as “Crazy Granny,” passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on September 16, 2026, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.

Janice grew up in Dublin, Virginia, and graduated from Dublin High School before marrying Edgar Eastridge on January 4, 1966. When Ed’s time in the service took them away from Virginia, Janice embraced each new place and made a home wherever they went. She followed him wherever his military service took him, always carrying her love for Virginia and the memories of where she grew up.

When Ed’s time in the service came to an end, their adventures did not. Janice continued to follow him wherever life and the band took them. Music was always a special part of her life. Those years brought her countless memories, places, and people that became part of the life she built with Ed.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cared deeply about her family. Granny had a huge heart and always seemed to put the needs of others before her own. Her love, however, extended far beyond her own family. Over the years, she became a grandmother to far more people than those to whom she was related. She welcomed kids, friends, and anyone who simply needed someone to love them, and she did so with her whole heart. There were a lot of people who would call her Granny, and she was happy to call them family.

Janice is survived by her son-in-law, Thomas Strasser; her grandchildren, Wyatt Strasser and his fiancee, Kate Potrzebowski and Jessica Corbin and her husband, Joshua Corbin; her great-granddaughter, Eleanor Corbin; her sisters, Violet Hege and Linda Lawson; and her dear friend Jeanine Strasser.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Walker Cressell and Dora Hardy; her daughter, Melissa Strasser: and her husband, Edgar Eastridge.

While those who loved her will miss her deeply, there is comfort in knowing that Granny is once again with the people she loved who went before her. She is reunited with her daughter and husband, and her family finds peace knowing that she is no longer separated from them.

Her memory will live on in the lives she touched, the stories that will continue to be told, and in everyone who was lucky enough to be loved by “Crazy Granny.”

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janice’s life on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Integrity Celebration Center, 2789 Browns Lake Dr., Burlington, WI 53105. Janice will be laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove, WI 53182 on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026 at 1 p.m.
