Jessie Woods Resigns as Chief Executive Officer at YMCA of Pulaski County

The YMCA of Pulaski County announced today that Jessie Woods
has officially resigned from her position as CEO effective late June.
“I grew up in this organization and love the YMCA and our community. It has
been a blessing to build lifelong friendships with our staff, members, and families.
I am so thankful to have had this time at the Y.,” said Woods. “This was an
emotional and difficult decision, but a necessary one to reset personally. My
hope is that I’ve left things better than I found them and helped to set the Y up for
success in years to come.”
Woods has been acting in the capacity CEO for the last 2 years, and in that time
has shepherded the organization through a challenging COVID pandemic,
increased membership in spite of those challenges, and expanded out of school
time services to all five elementary schools; increasing licensed childcare spots
from 75 to 375.
The Board of Directors of the YMCA is currently in the process of evaluating its
next steps with regard to leadership of the organization. In the interim period,
Chief Volunteer Officer/Board Chair, Dr. Paige Cash, will serve as the primary
contact.
“The Board is deeply grateful to Jessie for her leadership during such a difficult
time in our organization and community. It is hard to imagine where we, as an
organization, would be without her unique skillset and deep relationships in this
community,” said Dr. Paige Cash, Board President. “In the coming weeks and
months, our board will be working with Jessie to ensure a smooth transition and
to continue improving the critical services the YMCA offers to this community.”
The YMCA of Pulaski County has served this community since April, 1947,
75 years. During that time, it has provided childcare services, wellness and
exercise opportunities and other community building programs as they
work to live out their mission to put Christian principles into practice
through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
